My first Tutorial (picture heavy!)

Good Morning Everyone today I have for you my very first tutorial. I was asked a few times how to do the Fade look. So I wanted to let y'all know how I do it! So this is the stuff I use when doing a fade manicure...I pick out the color I want-- I wanted a blue...So I got my lightest blue out to start for my base *KleanColor Pastel Blue, then an in between blue I choose *Color Club Pure Energy, my Darkest color is *Color Club Trippie Hippie and to make the colors blend a bit more I used KleanColor Holo Blue on top of everything. Here is my set up...

My base coat is O.P.I. Natural Base Coat...I have an old plastic container top that I use to put polish on, an old pair of Tweezers, a toothpick to mix the colors together with, my cut up sponges, and my top coat.
Now I know this is a pretty horrible picture of the base color (best I have...I'm sorry I did redo parts of it after and forgot to take new pictures) but this shows you the steps I take when I'm Sponging...
I start with my base color *above #1* (**all over the nail or sometimes just half way) (Pastel Blue)
Between #1 and 2 would be the mixture of my first color and my middle color (pastel blue and pure energy).
Between #2 and 3 would be my in between color (pure energy).
Between #3 and 4 would be a mixture of middle color and darkest color (pure energy and trippie hippie.
At #5 I would finish with my Darkest Color ( Trippie Hippie)

**Do you see my boo-boo?! It will be covered up/ blended down so you can't notice it so if you happen to make a mistake with your polish like this remember with the patting you are going to be doing with the sponge it will blend the polish back together. ** So you see here I mixed my middle color and my base color and made this then I took my sponge with my tweezers dabbed it into the color then started sponging now don't try for a straight line trust me it will look better as a wonky line ~ I promise!
In this picture I know you can barely the second step but everything blended nicely by the end and I could see the difference of the fade when I looked down at my nails.

After finishing with all my steps I added the KleanColor Holo Blue to blend the colors..I found no matter what sparkle I use (China Glaze fairy dust or kleancolor holo's) they blend the colors really well if I put it on about a minute or less after I'm done with the color nearest the tip of my nails. * If you want to skip this you can and just add your top coat it will do the same blending that the holo does*

*SNAP* Here it is after I have cleaned it up! Now the colors REALLY pop in person and I think you can really see the fade in these pictures.

So what do you think? Have you tried the fade look?

Until next time I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Can You See Me Now?!

Hello everyone! Today's manicure was inspired by the lovely Trailer Hood Chic she did this awesome manicure in April and I kept saying to myself that I needed to get on it and do something similar. So the other day I did. I took Finger Paints Peaceful Purple and decided to get started. Peaceful Purple is a nice purple glitter that took 3 thin coats to get the full bottle color on my nails...I then topped it with a top coat and was on my way! I took the new Bundle Monster plates BM222 and my konad sp in purple and stamped the print on. Then I took my KleanColor Pastel Purple turned my stamp a different way and stamped it..well let's take a look at the mani!

Look at that sparkle I love Purple it is one of my favorite colors!!
I do like the look of all 3 together but maybe next time will try to maybe just to blend less or use different colors...
Tell me what's your favorite color right now? I have China Glaze Blue Iguana on my toes right now and I'm loving it so much I will be using this color again and again!! Until next time Ladies have a great week ^_^

Tequila Sunset

My sister inspired my new favorite pedi... Tequila Sunset. This is the first time I've ever tried sponging, and I ♥ it! Its super easy and looks amazing. I had to use 6 different colors but its so worth it:) I started off with Kleancolor Neon orange, this is the all over base for the pedi. After that I started with my sponging ( I did let each coat dry before applying the next). Okay sponging in order Zoya Rica, N.Y.C. 237, Kleancolor Wild Rose, Orly Razzle and finally the top coat Kleancolor Holo Pink. All you do is build up the colors as you go light to dark or whatever you'd like to do:) So here is the first picture of the original pedi♥

The easiest way that I found to do sponging is to have a little tray with your polish dabbed on ( opening the bottle and pouring some out) this way its there in front of you and your not having to open the bottle  a 100 times:) Make sure you cut up your sponges small cause remember you can't reuse them:P And here is the picture of the polishes used.

Kleancolor Neon Orange, Zoya Rica, N.Y.C. 237
Kleancolor Wild Rose, and Orly Razzle, Top coat Kleacolor Holo Pink
As the day went on I thought to myself...Self there is something missing from this pedi?! Oh yeah, I need to add some nail art:) And that is what I did, I kept thinking and my husband even said that it looks like a sunset... so what does a sunset need, Palm Trees:) Cause I really want to be at the beach right now!!! I wanted it to look like the airbrushed shirts you can get at the beach, so I did a little surfing on the internet and found a lot of great inspiration. And the Tequila Sunset was created:) I just used my black striper ( I did have to practice a few times on paper) but it was easy as one, two, three!

I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I have, this is my new favorite summer time pedi:)
Let me know what ya'll think and if there is something you have tired that you love???

Until next time lovelies, Happy Polishing and have a perfect Tequila Sunset!
Love,
Anne

LGBT

Hello Lovely Ladies today's manicure is something a group of ladies came up with for the month of June. June is LGBT History Month I'm a very firm believer of equal Rights to all! So to start my manicure I used o.p.i. base coat for natural nails...now I knew I wanted something bright so I went for my color club Wicked Sweet collection. This is the collection with the base and top coat I used I used ever color in the picture except Yum Gum.
Left to right: Color Club Vivid Top Coat, Gimmie a Grape Big Kiss, Raspberry Rush, I Always Get My Man-Darin, Get Your Lem-On, The Lime Starts Here, Wicked Sweet, Yum Gum, O.P.I. Natural Nail Base Coat (also used but not pictured is INM Northern Lights Hologram Top Coat "Silver" (OutTheDoor). *I also used a base color of Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud so that the neon's would pop and not show my nail line.*

Starting with an ohhh not that good of a picture *thumb is grape, index is raspberry, middle is mandarin, ring is lemon, and pinkie is lime ^_^ now as you may notice I have BUBBLES -_- on my middle and ring finger now I'm showing you this because after I'm done sponging you will not be able to see them ^_^

Now I started with my pinkie and mixed the blue *one drop* and green *one drop* and put that on the left of the pinkie by sponging (right side of the picture!) left the middle alone. Mixed Yellow *one drop* and green * two drops* and that was my pinkie...I followed that through out the manicure using one drop to two on the right side of the nail (left side of picture) and one drop to one drop on the left side (right side of picture). After I let that dry I noticed I needed more color (yes this is a lot of steps and I could have done without the last bit but I need it to blend more for my preference) so I dabbed with the brush on each color and wiped at it *left to right* with the main color *example: Pinkie I took the blue dabbed it on the left side took my green brush and swooshed the blue color over to the middle and stopped! then I sipped the green down the middle...then dabbed the right side with yellow and swooshed over with the green* It blended it so nicely that I continued on...this could have messed up a good sponging job on my nails but it was a success! ^_^ *HAPPY ME*

Added some Sparkles and this manicure is ROCKING it in my book!
Blurred so you can see the blended colors and the northern lights top coat sparkles better!

I love the way this turned out and might just be rocking it again soon! Don't let the steps in this manicure scare you away it is really easy to do! Well Ladies until next time I hope everyone is having a wonderful month of June...What Cause or Holiday would you like to see represented in a manicure?

My turn with Zoya Touch Collection:)

So Pat finally gave me my chance with the Zoya Touch Collection ♥, and I was so excited to try these out for Zoya. As Pat has already said there are three colors Pandora, Shay and Minka. When I got them home I looked at them for a little while in the box, I noticed that Pandora, Shay and Minka are all warm colors from different places on the color wheel. They all have a shimmer to them which gives a neutral color a little bonus. I am a in between person so I gravitated toured Shay, I think that on the right skin tone Minka and Pandora would be very pretty. I really liked that all three colors went on smooth and with a normal dry time. So here are all three colors on me.

My favorite one is Shay, just had to say that again. After I did this swatch I left the polish on like this ( just the three fingers for about three hours) to see which one I liked best for me. Shay was the winner (there it is again) with Pandora coming in a close 2nd. My skin tone varies through out the year so I believe that I could probably, let me say that again probably be able to use all three, Minka in the winter, Shay in spring, and Pandora in the summer and early fall. Here is a picture of Shay the winner for me (just one more time), I wore it all week:)... thats a long time for a polish-aholic:) So over all I liked the Touch Collection by Zoya and feel that everybody should have at least one neutral in there collection, you can never go wrong with a neutral!!!! The polish lasts a week with no chips and went with everything! Now go over to Zoya and check out their video on the collection and find which color is right for you!!! Happy polishing♥

Love,
Anne

Zoya Touch Collection! (picture heavy)

Hello Ladies today I have for you Zoya's Touch Collection that was sent to me for review. The collection is made up of 3 nude cream colors - Pandora, Shay, Minka - each having a touch of silver metallic shimmer. So let's get started! *In all the swatch photos I have 3 thin coats of polish without top and bottom coats.*

First up is the Trio together from left to right Shay, Minka, and Pandora they seem very similar when I first saw them but getting them on my nails I can see the difference.

Pandora is for cool skin color (a nice video to figure out your skin tone) and is described as a "beige nude with blue and mauve undertones and a hint of pearly shimmer". I think this is the perfect nude for my skin tone!

Next up is Minka! Minka is described as "a pale milky beige nude with yellow undertones and a hint of pearly shimmer, especially flattering on skin with neutral and olive skin tones".

Last but not least is Shay! Shay is described as "a dense, fleshy light peach with slight orange-red undertones and a hint of pearly silver shimmer". Shay compliments warm - neutral skin tones.

Here is my final picture with all 3 colors next to each other on my cool skin tone. From Left to right: Minka, Shay, Pandora.
Now out of habit like I stated before I polished my nails with 3 thin coats. With any Metallic shade of polish you will see a bit of streaks which I don't mind that much and with these since they are a cream polish with a hint of metallic I really think the streaks are toned down. My thoughts on each are:
Shay- is a great color but just not right for my skin tone but I liked it. It brings out the yellow in the polish when put up next to my skin tone a little to much for my liking.
Minka- is also nice and I liked the look on me. It seemed neutral enough that I think I can get away with wearing it because of the peachy tint to it.
Pandora- happened to be my favorite of the bunch I think it goes very well with my skin tone. I really can't wait to wear this out!

I think everyone will be happy if searching Zoya for a nude color! Something for everyone and as with all Zoya polish I own the formula is really great! The added silver shimmer turns a nude into a NUDE! I like the shimmer added I think it really spices the colors up but not to much that you couldn't wear it to work or a job interview.

You can purchase Zoya HERE if you are in the "Continental USA" for $8 per bottle.
To Zip you through Touch Collection Sampler is HERE and is $24 for the trio.
Zoya is having a special right now for FREE Standard Ground Shipping on any Purchase at http://Zoya.com expires 6/6/11 not valid with other offers. Enter code: FS99 at checkout (once per customer.)

Ladies in Australia you can order Zoya HERE.

Thanks so much for reading today Ladies...and now I would love to know would you wear nudes?
Until next time Ladies have a wonderful day!
