Halloween Ideas

Pat is home finally and we sat down together the other day, throwing some ideas back and forth about Halloween. These are just rough ideas about what we want to do, we have a ton of ideas but wanted to share the few we did the other day with all of you.  The first one is the Frankenstein mani, super cute and pretty easy to do. You can put different faces on them and add just about anything you want. Use any green base, a black crackle for the hair. A dotting tool is easy for the eyes, white then black. That's just about how easy this mani was.

This next one I did, I wanted to try out a bunch of different looks so I could figure out which one I wanted to do for Halloween... needless to say I liked them all:)  So my first figure is my ghosty, a glow in the dark base with black eyes and mouth. The next one is a sponged base and a spider on top. The next is my attempt at Jack from the Nightmare Before Christmas... not so good for the first try. And the last is my Frankenstein guy, sorry he is upside down.

Here is another Picture of the Glow in the dark Ghosty. I try to capture the glow for ya'll but as you can see its way harder than it looks!

I hope ya'll like what we've come up with so far for this Halloween. More to come and if you have any ideas that you would like us to try just leave a comment and we will give it a shot!

Happy polishing everyone!
Love,

~Anne and Pat~

Stamp This!!!

With Pat away I will play!!!! I haven't had a really good chance to try stamping, so with the other half of Southern Sister Polish (Pat) away I had a perfect chance to try my hand at it. It was a little harder than it looks... it took me a few good tries on paper to get it right. I wanted a simple design to try first and found plate BM-205... perfect! So I went through all the polish I had and came up with these two polishes for a combo, here is the picture of them.

I couldn't get a good picture of the plate so I just left that out. China Glaze Hologram is so awesome in the sunshine that I had to use it as the base. Now I did this mani right before Tropical storm Lee passed over ... so not enough sunshine to take pictures outside. So I hope you can see Hologram and all its glory  in the pictures. I used Hard Candy Mr. Right for the Stamping and it worked out pretty well.  Here is a picture of the finished look.

Sorry this picture isn't the best lets try another up close...

Super pretty!!!! I wore this on my nails for about a week and got tons of compliments at work, my hubby even said that he liked it!!! Now I'm already thinking of which stamp to try next, hmmm???

Tell me whatcha think!!! And if you have tried stamping, which one do I need to try next???

That's all for now polish peeps!
Love,

~Anne~

Wishing on a Star!

I'm wishing on a star and hope it will come true! That's part of a song from the Polar Express, Love that song and the way my little girl sings it:) But lets get down to business, Polish business that is!!! I was out with my best girlfriend this last weekend and picked up a few new polishes, I was really out looking for early Christmas presents but all I found was Polish!!! I took her to my local beauty supply store, I was secretly looking for Kleancolor's new chunky holos... no such luck:(
But I did find these other beauties I couldn't live without, here is a picture of my haul (small as it may be).

From right to left ... NK Nail Enamel-Magical, Kleancolor- Puppy Love and Kleancolor- Silver Star.  I just feel in love with all of them and guess what they are only $.99 each, what a deal! Later that weekend I got home and  wanted to try one and couldn't decide on which one, so I let my daughter pick one and the winner is... *Drum roll* Silver Star! I really love this polish  and had seen it on a lady one day while I was out shopping and put it in the back of my mind to try later.

I need to just say I had to place the stars where I wanted them which took a little bit more time but they where coming out all bunched together.
I grabbed a tooth pick and then started polishing ... I applied a base coat first, I didn't wait for it to dry before applying Silver Star. You have to kinda dig the stars out with the brush and then place them with the tooth pick, I know that sounds like a lot of work but really it wasn't that bad. *Remember to press the stars into WET polish so they have something to stick to and that way they won't peel up. Here is a picture of the finished look:)

You can always add more or less stars, three was the perfect number for me:) I haven't try the other two polishes yet but I will get  on it nail peeps! I hope you like this new post and leave a comment about what you thought about the polish. Until next time my lovelies, happy polishing!

Love,

~Anne~

I want Candy!!!

Hey everybody, sorry I haven't been posting for a while... I've actually been working! Today's post is about Hard Candy!!! It's always a good day when you get nail mail, and an extra good day when you get to review a great polish. I'm really loving this polish... I think I have to go to the store and find a few I can't live without! Here is a picture of the two polishes that we received.

What cute packaging right???!!!! I think this is a genius way of selling polish and at $4 a bottle not a bad price either. Here is a swatch of Hot Pants.

Hot Pants is a glitter polish that needs about 4-5 good coats to achieve the look in the picture. And yes your going to need a top coat on top of that! Hot Pants reminds me of a sequin dress, so I guess you can say its a party dress for your nails:) ** Okay everybody just remember that you have to have a lot of coats to get this effect or start off with a pink bottom coat,  you can just keep adding coats until you have to look you want... that means more dry time!!! Over all I think this polish is worth the time it took to dry and for a night out this is super HOT!  Next up is Mr. Right.

Mr. Right is a DARK Navy polish, when I say dark I mean dark in the bottle. I  put on 3 good coats of polish to get this dark and still think that's its not as dark as the bottle. *** you need a base coat with this, it will stain!!!! I really like the smooth way this polish went on and the dry time was about normal. I usually do black on my toes for the winter but I think I might change to Mr. Right for this year ( I need to change it up a little!)

A little info from Just Nails about Hard Candy..
The focus is on color! Put the final touch on fingertips and toes with a top-quality formula. The long-lasting, chip-resistant polish ensure flawless results with each application, and is toluene and formaldehyde free.

I want to thank Just Nails for sending this product for us to review.
The product(s) in this post were provided to me for review. For more information please visit our Disclosure Policy Tab.

Tell me what you thought of these colors and if you have any Hard Candy. Is there a must have color from this collection that I need to go out and get right away???

Until next time polish fanatics,

~Anne~
